A British pensioner has been paraded with a hood over his head after he was allegedly caught with a £16,000 drug haul in Goa.

The 76-year-old, who police named as Stephen Slotwiner, Blog on drugs Online was arrested at his rented home in the village of Arambol. 

In the raid, the police seized 512 grams of cannabis, 40 ecstasy tablets and LSD Blotters 80 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) and LSD Blotters some LSD Blotters

If convicted, Slotwiner faces a prison sentence of up to six months under ‘s Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Officers raided his accommodation because they had received a tip off about drug possession.

The raid and drug seizure was confirmed by Police Inspector Dattaram Raut.

Those found possessing quantities of drugs which are over a kilo can face between 10 and 20 years in jail.

This latest police raid is one of a series of recent drug busts in the area, as Goa’s chief minister called for a crackdown on the trade.

Others who have been caught with drugs include a tourist from Bengaluru and the owner of a local restaurant. 

The police said that a case was registered against Slotwiner under the NDPS Act.
